Position Title: 6684-Maintenance Tech/Mechanic
Location: Marietta, OH

Pay Rate: $16.00

Contract Duration: 4-Months +Extension

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install heavy machinery and associated foundation material, electrical, air and water lines.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs items for all buildings, machinery, fork trucks, which also include heating and air conditioning.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Understand fire monitoring/suppression system and make system checks and maintenance.
  • Repair small tools.
  • Perform maintenance mig or stick welding as needed.
  • Ability to disassemble and assemble all parts of machines and support equipment according to the manufacturers, specifications. (with reasonable training)
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and /or humid conditions and risk of electrical shock.  The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. 
  • Attend scheduled onsite and offsite training as required.

  • Perform all job duties in a safe manner and obey all safety policies and procedures
  • Perform all job duties consistent with the Code of Ethics and the 4-I Values
  • Perform all job duties within ISO standards
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives and support all PPI, Keys and Lean projects
  • Perform other duties and cross training as assigned

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Education and/or Experience:  One year certificate from college or technical school.  Two to three years related experience in construction trades of concrete, carpentry, electrician, and plumbing is required.

  • Must be able to pass electrical safe work practices training.
  • Must be willing to attend training offered both on site and off site as required.
  • Experience with tools:  Use of all types of hand tools from screw drivers to voltmeters is required. 

  • Must have knowledge of techniques of electrical installation, pipe fitting, masonry work, heating and cooling system, fabrication with all types of materials, and operation of snow removal equipment.
  • Must have a basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.

  • Language skills:  Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence, and memos.  Must have the ability to write simple correspondence, and to complete manufacturing documentation completely.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, and other employees.
  • Mathematical Skills:   Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Reasoning Sills:   Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists and to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Physical Demands: 
    • Regularly required to stand, use hands and stretch and reach with hands and arms. 
    • The employee frequently is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. 
    • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. 
    • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. 
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. 
    • Must have full range of body motion.
    • Must be able to access all areas of machines and support equipment.
    • Must be able to access all area of the facilities as needed to perform repairs and maintenance.
    • Must be able to climb and work at heights up to and above 6 foot.
    • Must be able to work in close/confined space.
  • Ability to travel as required; rarely but could be required for special projects or training.
  • Must successfully complete electrical safe work practices training.
  • Must hold valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record to operate shop truck as required.
