Duties:
|
Applicant will work as part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for developing new products for RNA analysis using next generation sequencing. The position will involve designing and performing experiments using protocols for sample preparation, amplification, and genomic sequencing using molecular biology techniques. Must be able to follow detailed protocols with minimal instruction and implement modified steps to these protocols as discussed in team meetings. Maintaining an accurate and detailed lab notebook of all experimental steps is also required.

Required Skills
|
Candidate must be detailed-oriented, well-organized, self-motivated, and have strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work with a multidisciplinary team is also required. Experience performing routine laboratory methods such as RNA isolation, DNA isolation, PCR, RT-PCR, nucleic acid hybridization, cloning, in vitro RNA transcription, nucleic acid analysis using gel electrophoresis, the Bioanalyzer, and the Nanodrop are required. In addition, to these skills, candidate must have a basic understanding of the function of nucleic acid enzymes, such as ligases, reverse transcriptases, and polymerases.

M.S. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or related field. B.Sc. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology or related field with 2+ years of paid lab experience
