Duties

Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. This job is the fully qualified, journey-level position. Makes decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures effective achievement of operation’s objectives. Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of functional, division, or company operations. Must demonstrate judgment, tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external customers. This person is responsible for the effective procurement of materials for the production schedule for
all divisions and sites and/or commodity classes.

Essential Job Functions

• Collecting, coordinating and organizing all documentation required to issue RFP’s & RFQ’s (Request For Proposal / Request For Quote).
• Implementation of PAC/Consignment for suppliers awarded with new or extended business.  Ensures the execution of consignment programs to meet and / or exceed the established commodity goals.
• Lead implementation of supporting operational activities with respect to the related business categories (Biological & Plastics commodities). This involves partnering with internal and external resources to accomplish program & project goals.
• Recognize problems, analyze and recommend solutions and execute if applicable

•Experience in Invoice reconciliation and inventory management
Negotiate site spend raw material and services agreements; Contract negotiation exposure experience
Manage new part release planning data
Manage purchasing performance metrics: purchase price variance, on-time delivery, Site Supplier Quality

Necessary Skills

•Deliver completed analysis of RFP & RFQ packages
•Provide base line cost analysis as well as progressive innovative solutions and suggestions for achieving significant cost reductions.
•Increase inventory turns
•Insure a favorable customer experience
•Partner with internal and external stake-holders
•Experience in supplier management, procurement or the sales function.


•Business skills should include:
1) ability to analyze business processes,
2) identify opportunities for process improvements,
3) collaborate across organizational boundaries to formulate solutions,
4) develop required tools to enable business process.


•Candidate is expected to:
1) quickly understand the business context of tools and be able to recommend, develop and implement the actions to complete sourcing activities which will result in significant cost reduction initiatives.

3) Possess strong analytical and project management skills.
4) Demonstrate excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
5) Articulate communication skills (verbal and written).

Education  Bachelor''s degree in Business Administration, Chemistry, Biology, Mechanical Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or related fields
Bachelors in business or technical discipline or equivalent experience
CPM/CIPS Certification or equivalent preferred; APICS or equivalent Certification preferred
Experience Minimum 7 years business experience
Chemical and/or Biological and/or Plastic Injection category knowledge preferred
Advanced skills in MS Excel and/or MS Access and MS PowerPoint
Advanced skills in ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards and/or SAP
Function in a global and matrix organization
Experience in negotiation and contract management
