Job Title: Health and Safety Officer (8 positions) for Iraq site

Availability:  With ready passport for deployment in within November and December time frame.

Requirements:  Candidates must pass Background Investigation and Drug Screen before deployment.

Job Description:

• Key individual for assuring a safe work environment during the implementation of field activities and tasks associated with construction. The role includes overseeing field activities performed by our Client and subcontractors, keeping appropriate records, and improving the work ethic of safety under the contract.
• Ensuring Compliance - as identified in the site-specific health and safety plan, the health and safety officer is responsible to ensure that all elements of the health and safety plan are implemented and enforced on site. This specifically includes the following: -Directs and coordinates safety and health monitoring activities; -ensures proper personnel protective equipment is utilized by field teams; -conducts and documents daily safety meetings; -monitors compliance with the health and safety plan; -notifies Company's  health and safety manager of all accident/incident investigations; -reviews and maintains accident/incident report forms; -ensure that monitoring instruments are calibrated and working properly; -reports to company Management to provide summaries of field operations and progress; and -maintains safety and health field log books.
• Achieving Project Goals - assist in performing tasks and guiding project personnel to achieve project objectives in compliance with the contract health and safety plans and specifications. Strict adherence to plans must be practiced at all times. Assist in the development in approaches to field activities, providing expertise to ensure all work efforts are being performed safely and efficiently to minimize risk to human health.
• Training Site Personnel - provide training and guidance to site field personnel for the safe and compliant execution of project tasks. This may include coordination for first aid and CPR training and certification, confined space entry, lock-out/tag-out, respirator fit and training, and other training, as necessary, to ensure safe execution of work. Instill through interaction with field workers a strong safe work ethic as defined in the core corporate values. When necessary, counsel workers on safe field practices on an individual basis to avert non-compliant or unsafe actions.
• Maintaining Records - maintain appropriate information on each project worker and subcontractor in compliance with the health and safety plan
• Providing Documentation - provide appropriate documents in compliance with the corporate health and safety plan, and the site-specific health and safety plan. These include a record of daily tailgate safety meetings, weekly report summaries, revisions to the health and safety plans, inspection records of equipment and instruments, etc.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree with a minimum of 10 years field health and safety duties
• First aid training, CPR training, confined space training
• Construction Experience mandatory
• Must be willing to travel
• Applicable college degree
• Professional certification
• International and clean construction experience USACE experience
• Good oral, written, and computer skills
• Supervisory experience
• Experience managing and providing oversight to multiple project locations
• Willing to travel within Iraq to visit and inspect project sites
