**HYBRID. Once a month cadence at a minimum at OGO. The typical schedule will be one day per month in person, but additional in-person meetings may occur according to business need.

Amplify is an Innovation Accelerator venture in the accelerate stage, dedicated to helping customers go electric. We're creating a new kind of customer experience—building digital products, services, and partnerships that make the transition simpler, faster, and more affordable by reducing friction across vehicle selection, incentives, installation, and grid connection.
The Amplify venture lives within Electrification and Decarbonization department, which exists to create an electrified California where customers choose efficient and decarbonized buildings and transportation.

Position Summary
The Technology Lead will support Amplify's evolution from manual pilot to scaled platform by building automations that enable the team to operate efficiently today while collaborating with IT to implement the automated platform for tomorrow.
In the near term, you'll rapidly prototype and implement automations using low-code and no-code tools to support the manual pilot program—a concierge-guided experience helping customers through EV selection, home assessment, and charger installation. You'll build workflows, integrations, and AI-enhanced tools that allow the Amplify team to deliver personalized support at pilot scale.
As the product demonstrates value and readiness to scale, you'll transition to working closely with IT and external development vendors as a technical advisor and bridge, helping translate product requirements and operational learnings into specifications for an automated customer-facing platform that can serve customers across service area.
As part of the Amplify venture team, you'll work in a fast-paced, startup-like environment within, moving quickly from idea to implementation while building toward enterprise scale.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be the Oakland General Office. The role reports to the Amplify General Manager.


Job Responsibilities
The Technology Lead will:

  • Rapidly build and iterate on automations using low-code and no-code platforms to support manual pilot operations
  • Implement AI-enhanced tools including an EV selection agent and online home assessment
  • Create workflows and integrations that connect pilot program components (application forms, scheduling, data tracking, communication)
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and quickly prototype solutions
  • Collaborate with IT and external development vendors to translate product requirements and operational insights into technical specifications for scaled platform implementation
  • Serve as technical advisor during platform build-out, helping clarify functionality and bridge startup and enterprise approaches
  • Work closely with the Product Manager to understand customer needs and rapidly test solutions


Qualifications
Minimum

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of software development or technical implementation experience
  • Experience building systems that use AI, including agents or similar AI-powered tools
  • Experience rapidly prototyping and building with modern tools (low-code/no-code platforms, APIs, automation tools)
  • Understanding of web technologies and how systems connect
  • Comfort with uncertainty, ambiguity, and rapid iteration
  • Scrappy, pragmatic problem-solver who finds creative ways to deliver quickly
  • Strong collaborator who can work with startup teams, enterprise IT organizations, and external vendors


Desired

  • Deep experience building with Large Language Models, agentic AI, or advanced AI/ML systems
  • Background working with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Copilot)
  • Experience bridging pilot programs and enterprise systems
  • Product management experience (e.g. talking with customer, writing user stories)
  • Familiarity with enterprise IT environments, processes, and requirements
  • Experience managing or collaborating with external development vendors
  • Startup or innovation lab experience
  • Understanding of EV adoption, home electrification, or energy programs
  • Passion for climate tech, clean energy, or customer experience
