Position Title: 577392-Senior Modem Software Engineer
Location: San Jose, CA

Pay Rate: $65-$85

Contract Duration: 6 months contract

Description:

Our Modem Software team is looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic Software Engineers to join our team in developing and commercializing world class cellular modem SW. We are looking for engineers with expertise cellular domain with focus on L1 control/PHY layers and embedded software. As a member of Modem Software team, you will be responsible for development and commercialization of cellular chipsets in North America market.

Responsibilities:

• Commercialize modem in North American market

• Analyze field and test equipment logs, debug issues and provide fix

• Participate in new feature development and verification

• Understand existing embedded software, identify optimization areas and provide solutions to improve overall performance

• Collaborate with wider teams and customers to provide end to end solutions

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science Discipline with 5+ years of relevant industry experience, or Master’s with 3+ years or PhD with 0+ years in field of wireless communication technologies.

• Excellent coding skills in C/C++ in embedded space

• Excellent understanding of HW abstraction layer and embedded concepts

• Strong understanding of 3GPP protocol specifications in L1

• Knowledge of physical layer channels (PDCCH, PDSCH, PBCH) and related procedures in downlink

• Good understanding of L2/L3 protocols especially MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC is preferred

• Ability to work on test equipment and vendor drops to verify and debug assigned features/issues end to end

• Ability to take ownership and bring innovations in development of commercial modem software
